After looking for a residential property with a rental unit for over a year, my wife put me in touch with Trish, a friend of a friend. She showed me two properties in all, both of which were more suited to our needs than any I had seen the previous year. We put in a low-ball offer on the second one, and after some negotiations, this offer was accepted. We firmly believe, having spoken with other agents and with our friends, that we got an amazing deal on this house, which we credit to Trish’s excellent negotiating skills, her knowledge of construction (she is a former contractor) and her general get-up-and-go (she is the only agent I know who actively solicits new listings by knocking on doors).
We then used Trish to sell our former home, despite the fact that a competing realtor, with a twenty-five year history of buying and selling in the neighborhood, strongly competed for our listing. We are thrilled we did, as she worked with us over the course of three weeks to prepare the house for sale, using her contractor’s background to address any potential problems with the pre-listing home inspection, her contacts to stage the house to maximize its appeal, and her strategic skills to elicit five offers, eventually negotiating a sale price 7.5% over asking, with absolutely no conditions. This was particularly impressive as it occurred at a time (January 2011) when many houses were selling for under asking.
In short, I strongly recommend Trish as both a buying and selling agent.
